Ayia Napa
Once a charming fishing village, Ayia Napa became a top party destination in the 1990s, attracting young and frequently reckless British clubbers who flocked there in the summer. Today the hype has died down a bit, and though the area certainly still has a spring-break atmosphere during the high season, it now also sees its share of more families and less party-oriented vacationers. They come for its fine beaches, a 16th-century monastery that merits a visit, and Water World, a Greek mythology-themed water park. The Cape Greco headland, a short drive outside Ayia Napa, is a popular spot to watch the sunset.
