ABOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD

The residential districts outside the hustle and bustle of downtown city life are often referred to as the heartland neighborhoods. Typically, these areas are scattered with public housing blocks, which accommodate over 80% of the population, as well as hawker centers to feed their residents. Toa Payoh, Ang Mo Kio, and Bishan are some of the most populated suburbs. West of the city is Jurong, where you will find a famous bird park; farther north lies the Singapore Zoo.
