Annual membership will be $40. Email says if comes with access to an airport lounge if your registered flight is delayed by an hour or more. Who knows how well that will work?
Will you enroll? There is a three month free trial, supposedly.

I received that email and didn't think much of it until looking and clicking more through it. I never received an email that everyone was now going to have to pay to belong. My account says my status will change at the end of this year. I think that's really messed up as this wasn't made clear.
I was grandfathered in as during the pandemic, they started charging new members after a certain date. I remember this as my sister asked how to belong and was out of window for no fee membership. I can't say I use them often but always liked receiving the deals. Some really weren't as I already knew some of them due to already belonging to who had the deal. I am going to have to think more about keeping my membership if I now have to pay

I just wanted to follow up as I don’t see any other responses. I thought my experience will be helpful as I couldn’t decide on trying this or not.
After speaking to a friend who traveled with me on my last trip, I decided the $40 would be worth it should I need it. We got severely delayed in Frankfurt and were only provided 2 €15 food vouchers for a 10 hr delay. That did not cover the 2 meals (lunch and dinner) and a decent place to hang out until the next flight departed. We had no idea how delayed we were until arriving in Frankfurt. I think this service would have helped as we didn’t even have time to prepare to leave the airport for a bit. I understand this service may not always be used but it’s like any insurance. So I signed up and can report back on any experiences as I have 2 trips next year with connecting flights.
