Tropical disease anyone? If so, use Tarus Adventure Safaris
Hi
Early this year I contacted this company to arrange a safari trip to Ngorongoro Crater national park in Tanzania. That was the worst trip of my life.
The guy, owner of the above mentioned company, doesn't even have an office. He insisted we meet at a street cafe and demanded I pay him cash. I thought to myself that he was avoiding paying taxes. He put us, me and my 12 year old daughter on an old and very dirty, with interior full of used soda cans. It was very dirty and smelly. And it turned out that this car was not his. His company doesn't have an office or tour vehicles, even one.
When we reach the hotel he booked for us in Karatu, in the city of Arusha, the receptionist there said he didn't make any reservation for us. So we had to pay extra. And the hotel was not even an hotel pasee, it was some sort of a cottage high school students use for end of year vacation stays. It didn't have running water.
My daughter caught a viral infection before the next day which we had to go down the crater to see some animals. I took her to a local clinic where the doctor failed to identify what got into her. So I decided as a father to cancel the trip and took a flight to Aga Khan Hospital Nairobi Kenya where my she was diagnosed with Bacillus anthracis infection.
To make long story short we decided to go back to Arizona.
My advise: Don't be fooled by a fancy website online showing Photoshop touched pictures with beautiful African landscape shots that make you want to take a flight to Africa the next day. Anybody can make a beautiful looking website nowdays, even my daughter.
In most African countries there are consulates and embassies, contact your embassy and let them recommend you some reputable travel companies with offices and sanitized vehicles.
You and your family's health is very important. Don't gamble with your children's health by relying on your cheapness which at the end will cost you more money when you go back to your home country.
Don't give your hard earned money into the hands of con men.
That's my advice. Don't say I didn't warn you.

It seems to me this story should have ended right after the demand for cash and before getting in the old, smelly, dirty car. When it was clear you’d been hoodwinked why continue? This story appears to have 2 villains, “the guy” and someone who’d put his young daughter in a clearly unpleasant (or worse) situation. Shame on you.
