Reputable travel agency for northern lights tour
Seeking travel agency (most likely Canadian I assume) to assist with tour to northern Canada for northern lights tour in winter. Seeing lots of possibilities in places like Whitehorse, Churchill and Yellowknife. Looking at 3-4 night tour. Due to the somewhat risky nature of this type of trip we don’t want to leave anything to chance or get scammed by a shady tour company. Hoping to keep costs around $1,500 USD per person if possible. Thanks for any recommendations you can provide.

I can't make any recommendations, but I'd simply go to the official tourism websites for Whitehorse, Yellowknife, and Churchill for tour recommendations, at least as a starting point.
Similar to how in the US you have states, in Canada, we have provinces in the south (i.e. Manitoba) but also territories in the north (Yukon, Northwest Territories, etc.), and so it helps to know the name of the province or territory you might be visiting, as each province and territory usually has a wealth of official info on these types of tours on their official websites. They wouldn't promote them on their websites if they weren't legit.
Here's the main Churchill webpage on the Travel Manitoba website. Note that Churchill is famous for its polar bear expeditions. Northern lights are just a bonus: Everything Churchill: See Polar Bears, Belugas, Northern Lights & More | Travel Manitoba
Here's the northern lights webpage on the Travel Yukon website. Note that Whitehorse is the capital city of the Yukon territory: Northern lights | Travel Yukon - Yukon, Canada | Official Tourism Website for the Yukon Territory
Here's Yellowknife's official website: Extraordinary YK | Yellowknife will light up your life
Here's the Northwest Territories official website (Yellowknife is the capital city of the Northwest Territories): Home - Spectacular NWT
Also note that Canadian tours will only price things in Canadian dollars as it's the only currency used in Canada, so you'll want to start familiarizing yourself with exchange rates, as unless you're paying a US travel agent or paying through a global third party website like Expedia, your credit card will be charged in Canadian dollars when you book directly with a Canadian business. I only say that because most Americans read prices on Canadian websites and assume it's in US dollars, but prices are only shown in Canadian dollars on Canadian websites. But they won't literally say "$CAD", they'll often only show the dollar sign, but you'll just have to know, if it's a Canadian business, the price is in Canadian dollars. If it's in the US dollars, they will literally spell it out ($US). $1,500 USD is currently $2033 CAD, so keep that in mind when looking up the tours.
Finally, looks like Fresh Tracks (a legit Canadian tour operator) has a whole tour organization devoted to northern lights viewing: Tours by Region: Discover Canada's Northern Lights (northernlightscanada.com) - I just stumbled across this while searching up the official tourism websites I linked to, and I know Fresh Tracks is legit.
Good luck!
