Logan Square

TRAVEL GUIDE

Logan Square sits just west of Wicker Park/Bucktown. Over the years, it has been a melting pot for immigrants—first European (primarily Scandinavian, English, Polish, and Jewish), then later Latino. Spacious tree-lined boulevards are the dominant aspect of the area, and many historic buildings still line the streets. But Logan Square’s “cool quotient” has risen significantly in recent decades, leading some to compare it to Brooklyn, and these days its dining scene rivals its East Coast analog for creativity. Directly to the south, Humboldt Park mixes Puerto Rican traditions, green space, and increasingly, trendy shops and restaurants that cater to those who have been priced out of nearby hoods.
